Dear friend, welcome behind the scenes of Fluum. Here, you’ll meet me, Maret, and learn more about why and how Fluum came to be.

For me, Fluum represents something lasting, caring, and beautiful. I strive to pass on this feeling in every one of my products. I craft each item by hand and with great heart. I know that every candle, vase, and all Fluum products will one day find their way to a new home, and I hope they carry with them the sense of durability, care, and beauty that I’ve poured into them.

On a larger scale, Fluum also symbolizes the possibility of something new, in its most all-encompassing sense.

My earliest memory of concrete comes from my childhood: my grandfather’s spinning cement mixer, which always seemed so grey. It was like something in the background, not really grasping my attention. Until, many decades later, concrete came back to me in an unexpected way.

I had been pouring candles for my own and my loved ones' joy for several years before Fluum was born. Always using natural wax and essential oils. It was calming and grounding me, and knowing I was using natural ingredients gave me peace of mind.

The idea to combine concrete and candles came from a desire to create something new, something I hadn’t seen in Estonia in this form. On top of concrete, natural wax, and essential oils, I added another layer - reusability. So it wouldn’t just be another beautiful product designed for one time use.

Candles were the first products with which Fluum began. Perhaps that’s why they remain the dearest to my heart. But alongside them, more and more products are appearing that showcase the beauty and possibilities of concrete as an interior design element.

I sincerely hope that Fluum products bring to homes the same feelings I experience while making them – care, joy, and peace.
